FAQ
1 / Do I need an IBS diagnosis to participate?
No. A formal IBS diagnosis is not required.
Many people in this program have never received clear answers, were told “everything looks normal,” or were given general advice without ongoing support. What matters most is that your symptoms match a functional gut pattern — things like bloating, urgency, constipation, diarrhea, or abdominal discomfort that fluctuate over time and worsen under stress.
If your symptoms are unexplained, inconsistent, or seem to change depending on circumstances, this program is likely the right fit for you.
(If there are red-flag symptoms that require medical evaluation, we’ll always recommend addressing those first.)
*this program will not provide an IBS diagnosis if you do not have one but rather will manage symptoms listed above.
2 / Is this program appropriate for all types of IBS?
Yes. The program is designed to support IBS-C, IBS-D, mixed IBS, and symptom patterns that don’t fit neatly into one category.
Rather than treating IBS as a single diagnosis, we focus on the underlying drivers — digestion, nervous system reactivity, routines, and symptom triggers — which are relevant across all IBS subtypes.
Because the approach is personalized, it adapts as your symptoms change instead of forcing you into a rigid protocol.
3 / Do I need to follow a strict elimination diet?
No. This program does not rely on long-term elimination diets.
Strict food rules often create more stress, inconsistency, and symptom fixation — which can worsen IBS over time. Instead, nutrition is approached in a strategic, flexible way that prioritizes:
-
Symptom stability
-
Adequate nutrition
-
Sustainability in real life
Any dietary adjustments are targeted, temporary when needed, and designed to fit into normal routines — not control them.
4 / How does therapy help IBS symptoms?
Therapy helps IBS by addressing the nervous system patterns that keep symptoms cycling — even after you’ve tried diets, supplements, or tests.
This isn’t open-ended talk therapy.
The therapy component is:
-
Structured and goal-oriented
-
Focused on the gut–brain loop
-
Designed to reduce symptom flares, urgency, and hypervigilance
-
Attentive to life stressors, relationships, and patterns that influence gut symptoms
-
Time-efficient and practical
Many people with IBS are unknowingly stuck in a pattern where the brain is constantly scanning for symptoms — which keeps the gut sensitive and reactive. Therapy helps interrupt that loop so the digestive system can actually settle.
When combined with nutrition support, this approach allows changes to stick instead of falling apart under stress.
5/ What if stress triggers my symptoms?
That’s expected — and it’s exactly why this program works.
IBS is driven by the gut–brain connection, not just food. When your nervous system stays in “on” mode, digestion becomes more sensitive, reactive, and unpredictable — even if your diet looks “right.”
In this program, stress isn’t treated as something you need to eliminate or “manage better.” Instead, we focus on:
-
Reducing how strongly your gut reacts to everyday stress
-
Teaching your body to return to baseline more quickly
-
Building routines that work with your real schedule, not against it
You don’t have to change your whole life to heal—your gut can learn to feel safer within the one you’re living.
6 / Can this fit into a busy schedule?
Yes. The program is built specifically for people who don’t have time for frequent appointments or constant tracking.
Support is:
-
Structured and efficient
-
Focused on high-impact changes
-
Designed to reduce decision fatigue
The goal is progress without requiring your life to slow down. Most participants find that having a clear plan and the right support actually frees up mental and emotional energy rather than adding another obligation.
7/ Is this covered by insurance?
This program is not billed through insurance.
It’s designed as a comprehensive, integrated program that combines nutrition and therapeutic support in a way most insurance plans don’t cover. This allows us to focus on what actually helps IBS improve — without limiting care to diagnosis codes, session caps, or rushed appointments.
Some participants may be able to use HSA, or FSA funds for portions of the program, depending on their plan. We’re happy to provide documentation if needed, but coverage and reimbursement are ultimately determined by your insurer.
Most clients choose this program because it offers a level of structure, continuity, and coordination that insurance-based care typically doesn’t provide.
